Harnessing The Power of Populations™

Population Genetics’ approach takes the process of genetic analysis one step further. It enables the elaboration and testing of distinct hypotheses focused on both contiguous and non-contiguous regions of the genome. Whether these have been identified by other technologies such as investigation of gene expression levels, copy number variation, pathways analyses or genome wide association studies (GWAS) etc., novel genetic variants correlated with phenotype can be rapidly identified.

Population Genetics currently provides access to its technologies and expertise using a collaborative model whose objective is to enable research programmes involved in the study of populations to discover valuable population-derived data.

The advantages of partnering with Population Genetics

  • Access to proprietary technologies for the identification of high confidence causal genetic variants using phenotypically characterised populations
  • The ability to identify novel genetic variants against the background of natural genetic variation
  • The ability to target specific contiguous or non-contiguous genomic regions to support a hypothesis-led approach
  • The option to test multiple hypotheses on a single population of genomes, without depletion of the original samples
  • Access to robust data in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • The possibility of enhancing the power of the latest sequencing technologies
  • The opportunity to form partnerships with other collaborators of Population Genetics, and to access further resources such as biobanks and expert opinion within genetic research
